Born on the 28th of January, 1975, in Opobo, Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara was raised in a home where discipline, faith, and community were the highest values. From an early age he was drawn to the quiet dignity of service.
He studied Accounting at Rivers State University of Science and Technology, later earning a Master's degree and professional distinctions as a chartered accountant — a foundation that would define his approach to public finance.
For two decades he served Rivers State in progressively senior finance roles, culminating in his appointment as Accountant-General — where he became known for technical rigour, fiscal prudence, and a refusal to shortcut the public interest.
On the 29th of May, 2023, he was sworn in as the 8th Executive Governor of Rivers State. His inaugural address set the tone: an administration of continuity, competence, and quiet delivery.
In office, Governor Fubara has pursued a programme of infrastructural renewal, educational reform, healthcare revitalisation, and institutional strengthening — always with the long view of Rivers State's future in mind.
